San Antonio among top cities with homes on the market the longest

A new report from a global real estate company puts San Antonio among the top three markets where homes are up for sale for the longest amount of time as the housing industry continues to slow down from the COVID-19 pandemic. San Antonio is tied with Seattle as the third-most city that has homes on the market for an average of 64 days, according to report from RE/MAX.

San Antonio comes just under Fayetteville, Arkansas with an average of 78 days and Bozeman, Montana with 79 days. The days on the market are determined from when a home is first listed and the sales contract is signed.

"Prices have steadied and demand is strong, but the lack of available, affordable homes remains a challenge," said Nick Bailey, RE/MAX president and CEO, in the report. "Mortgage rates are top of mind for many buyers, and as they move up or down, sales activity should generally follow suit. That's a big factor to watch as we move into the spring."
