Partners Real Estate's New Dallas Leader Seeks To Deepen Bench in North Texas Office

When Dallas real estate broker Jerod Hangartner was seeking his next role in the industry last year, the former vice president at Entrada Partners put a call into an executive at Houston-based Partners Real Estate.

John Colglazier Jr. with Partners Real Estate's San Antonio office told the native Texan to sit tight while he spoke with other senior leaders at his company, one of Texas' largest independent real estate brokerage firms. After a Starbucks meeting and a trip to Houston, Partners Real Estate hired Hangartner as managing director of its new Dallas office that opened at the end of last year.

"I wanted to be a resource for a company that wanted to put roots down in Dallas," Hangartner said in an interview. "I initially thought I would be working on the private equity or investment side of the business, but Partners wanted to plug into the brokerage community, putting me more in the relationship business."

Those relationships will be key in building Partners Real Estate's business in Dallas-Fort Worth, the nation's fourth-largest region. Formerly known as NAI Partners, Partners Real Estate rebranded last year after electing not to renew its affiliation with NAI Global and it now has more than 200 employees throughout Texas.

Since joining the firm, Hangartner is responsible for recruiting and building up Partners' Dallas office, located at 17Seventeen at 1717 McKinney Ave. in Uptown. The office has room for up to 50 real estate brokers and support staff.

When Hangertner is not at the office, he's busy being a hands-on dad to three kinds under 10 who play in a variety of youth sports leagues.

"They take all of my attention when I get to the house," Hangartner said. "I'm very involved in youth sports and coaching, from football to baseball to soccer."

Hangartner has been making inroads with adding to Partners Real Estate's Dallas team, which now has 15 brokers. Hanes Chatham Jr. recently joined as a partner after working at Stream Realty Partners for 12 years and Evan Altemus was hired as vice president of brokerage services. Altemus previously worked as associate director of investment sales at Stan Johnson Co., which was acquired by Northmarq last year.
